Support » Blocked SMTP » Microsoft Outlook

To prevent spam being sent by their customers, some internet service providers block outgoing email unless sent through their own servers. We have our own anti-spam protection, so we need to bypass your internet provider's restriction.

In Outlook, click on the Tools menu at the top of the Outlook window. A menu will appear - if there is a downward-pointing arrow at the bottom of this menu, click on it (right). Click on the Email Accounts menu item, a new window will open.

Select View or change existing e-mail accounts, then click on the Next button at the bottom of the window.

Highlight the problematic email account from the list on the left. Click the Change button on the right.

Click the More settings button near the bottom-right of the window. Click on the Advanced tab at the top of the window. Change the number for Outgoing server (SMTP) from 25 to 26. Click OK to close this window.

Click the Next button, then the Finish button.

Try sending a test email. If the email doesn't send, please make a note of any error messages you get and call us on 01603 735576.
